Why Madeira?

This beautiful Portuguese island, only 2-hour flight from mainland Portugal, is the "Hawaii" of Europe. Have your client travel to Portugal and spend a bit of time visiting Lisbon, Porto and then to add their winter gateway why not capped it all off with a visit to Madeira. These are few things you should know:

Most of their best hotels are on cliffs overlooking the open oceans with spectacular terraces equipped with infinity pools, along with bar and restaurants
The island is rich in history and culture featuring a world renown wine from the 1600's aptly named Madeira wine
The weather in December and January is mild affording you to walk around comfortably in shorts and t-shirt
Christmas and more over New Years Eve is really a "thing" in Madeira, its markets and fireworks are renown throughout Europe

France's Christmas markets

France's winter wonderland

Winter holiday in France is a no brainer, especially when visiting the charming Christmas markets in the Alsace Region. Here are few things you should know:

From 25 November to 6 January, Alsace welcomes you to a winter wonderland with its traditions and original Christmas markets
The traditional Christmas market in Strasbourg dates back to 1570, it is one of the oldest in Europe
Alsace has amazing wines, Fois gras and cheese (Muster cheese). Because of the proximity Alsace's cuisine has a strong German influence with great and one-of-a-kind dishes.

Winter in Cote d'Azur?...That's right

Provence sun is not a myth

If you like the sun then you’re in the right place! With 300 days of sunshine a year. Here are a few reasons to love the Cote d’Azur in the winter.

For it’s exceptional light – the short days of winter make colors appear brighter, the blue of the sea is more intense, and the colors of the vegetation seem even greener. Blue skies, tinted with purple and orange make for incredible pictures.

The mildness of its climate makes the Cote d’Azur an ideal destination in both summer and winter. The winter days are perfect for enjoying the seaside. Not far way is the ski slopes of the Alps and it’s not unusual to see skiers hurtling down the slopes in short sleeves.

Talking about ski slopes, they’re only a few miles away as the crow flies. In ninety minutes from the coast, you find yourself in mountain villages where you can ski for the day and then return to the deep blue sea for a brisk dip in the Mediterranean.

The Cote d’Azur was where in the 20th century that tourism on the French Riviera started. European aristocrats took up their winter quarters on the sea. Today the winter here continues to make this a great destination, providing excellent value, no crowds, along with wonderful weather, shopping along with fabulous restaurants and sights to explore
